Interview with Jason Rawlings, PhD – Assistant Professor of Biology at Furman University

What skills/experiences should you focus on while in Grad School/Postdoc to make yourself most attractive to University Departments? I think University Departments want new faculty hires to complement the existing strengths of the department, both in terms of area of specialty and in the techniques/approaches to addressing science.  I think that grad students/postdocs should take inventory of their skills sets and ask whether or not they are too one-dimensional in what they can do in the lab.
